Critical Infrastructure Enhancement

Par Jean-Marc Okito2 min de lectureEnglish

NIAMEY, Niger-The city reached a critical milestone in its energy infrastructure on Tuesday, October 21, with the provisional reception of the reinforced high-voltage loop. This strategic project, supported by the World Bank under NELACEP and HASKE programs, upgrades the city's main power backbone from 66 kV to 132 kV, boosting its energy transit capacity from 70 MW to over 200 MW.

This enhancement is a direct response to years of chronic load-shedding and is projected to provide a more reliable, stable power supply for Niamey's growing population and economic activities up to the year 2035.
