Combating Corruption: ARGASC Strengthens Operational Framework

Bamako, January 22, 2026 - The Maeva Palace Hotel hosted the opening of a workshop to validate the guide on seizures and confiscations of the Agency for the Recovery and Management of Seized or Confiscated Assets (ARGASC). The event brought together representatives from judicial institutions, agency officials, and members of ARGASC’s General Directorate. The ceremony was chaired by Ibrahim Berthe, Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Justice, representing the Minister of Justice, alongside the Director General of ARGASC and a UNDP representative. Mr. Berthe highlighted that the guide complements the agency’s administrative, financial, and accounting manuals and is a key step toward sustainable and harmonized control activities. The workshop, held on January 22-23, 2026, is part of the UNDP-led LUCCEI 2 project supporting the fight against corruption and illicit enrichment.
