Ouagadougou, December 17, 2025 - In a formal agreement signed on Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation, and Burkinabe Abroad and the President of the High Council for Communication (CSC) officially granted the 94.0 FM frequency to Radio du Sahel, known as Radio “Daandé Liptako.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs described the signing as a logical continuation of the station's recent launch and commended Minister of Communication Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo for his support. He emphasized that the new radio station would provide the AES Confederation with a platform to produce content that counters misinformation and fosters cohesion and peace.

The President of the CSC, Wendingoudi Louis Modeste Ouédraogo, highlighted that Radio Daandé Liptako embodies the aspirations and struggles of the AES population. He added that the station will broadcast from Ouagadougou, with programming relayed to Niamey and Bamako, and stressed compliance with technical standards and equipment requirements as part of the agreement.

The frequency is granted for a renewable three-year period, and the station is set to be officially launched during the AES Heads of State Summit on December 22-23, 2025, in Bamako, Mali.
