Burkina Faso-Belarus Economic Cooperation: Belarusian Investors Present Projects to Foreign Minister Traoré

Ouagadougou, November 18, 2025 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, received on Monday, November 17, a delegation of Belarusian investors seeking to implement development projects in Burkina Faso.

Led by Vitaly Gmyrak, the delegation expressed its intention to establish a mutually beneficial partnership in several strategic sectors, including agricultural production, fertilizer manufacturing, agricultural mechanization, mining, and electrical engineering.

According to Mr. Gmyrak, this first meeting with Minister Traoré marks “the starting point for building economic relations” between Belarus and Burkina Faso.

Minister Traoré welcomed what he described as the “pragmatic approach” of the Belarusian investors, noting that their proposals align with the government’s priority areas. He encouraged them to use their stay in Burkina Faso to develop win-win partnerships with local entrepreneurs.

During the audience, an envoy of the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs also delivered a letter to Minister Traoré, reaffirming Minsk’s commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Ouagadougou.
