In his address, President Goïta reaffirmed the principles of sovereign diplomacy, emphasizing mutual respect, freedom of strategic choice, and responsibility. He declared 2026 a year of constructive dialogue and sincere partnerships, welcoming the strengthening of political dialogue and new diplomatic accreditations, which highlight growing interest in Mali and the Confederation of Sahel States (CESA).

On security, the Head of State commended the Defense and Security Forces for confronting the asymmetric threat, stressing that territorial security is essential for the restoration of state authority and essential social services. He also denounced disinformation targeting the countries of the Economic and Social Affairs Group (ESA) and reaffirmed Mali’s adherence to UN principles, including non-interference and respect for territorial integrity.

Domestically, President Goïta reiterated ongoing state reforms under the Vision “Mali Kura ɲɛtaasira ka bɛn san 2063 ma” and the National Strategy for Emergence and Sustainable Development 2024-2033.
