Djibouti, April 9, 2026 - The first round of entrance examinations for the 18th cohort of the Joint Military Academy of Arta (AMIA) was launched on Thursday, marking the beginning of a rigorous selection process for future military officers. Following a preliminary screening phase based on application reviews, only candidates meeting the required criteria were selected to participate in the competitive examination. The opening day was dedicated to physical and athletic assessments designed to evaluate candidates’ endurance, strength, and discipline. The tests included pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, and a 1,000-meter run. Military officials described the exercise as a key stage in identifying future leaders, emphasizing the importance of physical readiness, resilience, and determination as core qualities for admission into the academy.
