Amadou Mahamane Ousmane Appointed Niger’s Ambassador to Libya

NIAMEY, Niger - Thursday, December 4, 2025 - Colonel-Major Amadou Mahamane Ousmane has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Niger to the State of Libya, following a presidential decree.

A senior officer in the Nigerien Armed Forces and administrator of the National Gendarmerie, Colonel-Major Ousmane has held multiple positions within the High Command and the Ministry of Defense. He also brings extensive international experience, having served within the United Nations system on various security and multilateral cooperation missions.

His appointment reflects Niger’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and security relations with Libya and underscores Niamey’s focus on regional cooperation in the Sahel and North Africa.
