AFC/M23 Investigates Death of Communications Advisor in Goma

Goma, DRC - The AFC/M23 coalition, active in the Democratic Republic of Congo, announced the tragic death of its communications advisor, Magloire Paluku, on December 10, 2025. Paluku, a longtime journalist, was shot dead in the city of Goma, and the assailants remain unidentified.

The head of the AFC/M23 office, Corneille Nangaa, along with Alumba Lukamba Omokoko Jean Pierre, confirmed that Paluku died at Goma General Hospital.

“Following this criminal act, investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible,” said Alumba.

Born in Butembo, North Kivu Province, Paluku was the operator of Radio Kivu One. He joined AFC/M23 in July 2024, and since then has been a close advisor and friend to the group’s leader, Corneille Nangaa.
