18th SYNAPPO Scientific Day: Strengthening Healthcare Professional Solidarity

Bamako, November 29, 2025 - The 18th Scientific Day of the National Union of Private Sector Pharmacists (SYNAPPO) was held under the theme “Professional Commitment and Solidarity Among Pharmacists”, with a focus on creating a mutual insurance fund and improving the management of Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO).

The event was chaired by the Minister of Health and Social Development, Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré, and brought together pharmacists and sector professionals to discuss current challenges and opportunities.

Creation of a Mutual Insurance Fund: Aimed at better covering the social and health risks faced by pharmacists.

Management of Reimbursement Forms under AMO: Addressing rejected forms to ensure the profitability of pharmacies, with solutions to be developed in consultation with CANAM and Regional Health Organizations (OGD).

The Minister commended community pharmacists as essential pillars of the healthcare system, acknowledging their dedication, professional rigor, and contribution to the success of AMO.

Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening financing and regulatory mechanisms, promoting a partnership based on trust, transparency, and mutual respect.

Certificates of recognition were presented to individuals who made significant contributions to improving access to medicines and supporting the pharmaceutical sector.

The day emphasized collaboration, professional solidarity, and the strategic role of pharmacists in ensuring public health and continuity of care across Mali.
