Working Meeting Between Minister Abdoulaye Diop and the Chinese Ambassador

Bamako, January 23, 2026 - As part of the operational monitoring of bilateral cooperation, His Excellency Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a working meeting on Friday, January 23, 2026, with His Excellency Mr. Li Xiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Mali. Reviewing the strategic areas of cooperation, the two officials emphasized the need for the rigorous implementation of priority projects arising from economic and technical cooperation agreements. These include solar energy projects, infrastructure and transportation development, agricultural mechanization, and the construction of healthcare facilities. Highlighting the importance attached by the highest authorities to economic development, Minister Diop underscored the significant initiatives undertaken by the Government to ensure the secure execution of development projects, in a spirit of pragmatism and mutual interest. Both sides praised the strategic level of the Mali-China partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to the regular and rigorous monitoring of ongoing projects, with a view to the swift realization of shared ambitions of the Malian and Chinese Heads of State.
