Two New Malian Ambassadors Receive Instructions from President Goïta

Bamako, February 28, 2026 - Koulouba, Bamako, February 26, 2026 - President of the Transition General Assimi Goïta received two newly appointed Malian ambassadors on Thursday, February 25, 2026, to provide instructions before their departure to their assigned posts abroad.

The diplomats are:

Major General Ibrahima Dahirou Dembélé, designated Ambassador of Mali to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (appointed November 5, 2025)

Colonel-Major Maouloud Ould Mohamed, designated Ambassador of Mali to Libya

Mandates and Priorities

Major General Dembélé outlined his mission focusing on:

Strengthening economic cooperation with Saudi Arabia, particularly through infrastructure projects

Consolidating security cooperation, including training, technical support, and intelligence sharing

Enhancing social, cultural, and religious ties between Mali and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Colonel-Major Maouloud Ould Mohamed emphasized his priorities:

Regional security collaboration

Strengthening economic relations

Improving living conditions of Malians residing in Libya

Both ambassadors expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and reaffirmed their determination to carry out their missions with loyalty and efficiency, representing Mali’s interests abroad.
