Rwanda’s Agricultural and Livestock Exports Earn Over $13.7 Million in Five Days

KIGALI - Rwanda’s agricultural and livestock exports generated more than $13.7 million in just five days, according to the National Agricultural and Livestock Export Board (NAEB).

NAEB reported that between December 15 and 19, 2025, exports totaling 9,538 tons earned $13,764,685 in foreign revenue.

The earnings were largely driven by coffee and tea exports. A total of 893 tons of coffee generated $6,264,518, while 931 tons of tea earned $2,758,516. Additionally, 500 tons of vegetables brought in $345,176.

Exports also included 313 tons of fruits, sold for $241,609, and 21 tons of flowers, which earned $113,958.

Rwandan agricultural products were exported to several international markets, including France, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, as well as neighboring and other African countries.

Other agricultural products, weighing 6,572 tons, generated $3,425,424, while animal products totaling 308 tons earned $615,484. These were mainly sold to regional markets, other African countries, and Oman.

NAEB noted that this performance follows another strong export window between December 8 and 12, 2025, during which Rwanda earned $12.5 million from agricultural and livestock exports weighing 9,650 tons.

Earlier, on December 18, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced that Rwanda’s agricultural and livestock exports in 2025 had already generated more than $893.1 million, equivalent to approximately Rwf 1,301 billion.

According to a report by the National Institute of Statistics, agricultural and livestock exports reached over $893 million in the 2024/25 fiscal year, up from $839 million in 2023/24, marking an increase of 6.4%.

Under the Second National Strategy for Economic Acceleration (NST2), Rwanda aims to further boost foreign exchange earnings by increasing agricultural and livestock exports to Rwf 1,540 billion annually by 2029.
