Manono - February 8, 2026 - Employees of COLINGO, a subcontractor of Manono Lithium, staged a demonstration on Friday, February 6, demanding the implementation of the government-mandated minimum wage of 21,500 FC per day, instead of the 13,500 FC they currently receive. A COLINGO supervisor explained the background of the dispute: “We had agreed with our supervisor that he would start paying us 13,500 FC per day. There was also the issue of work uniforms that needed to be resolved: we had to buy the uniforms and vests for 48,000 FC, and that was done.” The supervisor, who has been working with the company for six months, highlighted the challenges faced by employees in securing fair wages and proper work conditions.
