Mali Celebrates 47th Anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution with Diplomatic Engagement
Bamako, February 13, 2026 - Abdoulaye Diop, Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, participated in celebrations marking the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bamako on Friday, February 13, 2026. On behalf of Mali’s highest authorities, Minister Diop conveyed congratulations and wishes for peace, prosperity, and progress to the President, Government, and people of Iran. Speaking on Mali’s current challenges in its pursuit of freedom and dignity, he highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to the inalienable right of peoples to preserve national sovereignty and define their development paths without external interference. Minister Diop also praised Mali-Iran cooperation on major international issues, including: Respect for territorial integrity Rejection of the instrumentalization of human rights for political ends Defense of non-interference Promotion of a democratic, inclusive, and multipolar multilateral order Both sides condemned unilateral coercive measures and economic sanctions, labeling them unjustified and counterproductive, and welcomed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation since the first Mali-Iran Joint Commission in Bamako, August 2022.
