Algeria Responds to Allegations of Interference in Mali
Algeria, February 7, 2026 - President Abdelmadjid Tebboune addressed the press regarding Algeria’s regional relations, stating that the country maintains good relations with Niger-having invited President Abdourahamane Tiani to visit-and enjoys balanced ties with Burkina Faso. On Mali, President Tebboune emphasized that Algeria facilitated a consensus accepted by all parties, with support from the United Nations and the African Union, but denied accusations of interfering in Malian internal affairs, calling such claims wrongful.
