2025 Public Debate Highlights Skills Coordination Among Malians as Minister Attends Diby
Bamako, December 29, 2025 As part of activities marking the 2025 public debate on the coordination of skills among Malian citizens, the Minister for Malians Living Abroad and African Integration, Mossa Ag Attaher, on Monday December 29, 2025, attended the Diby Festival in Bamako. The Diby Festival is a major cultural event celebrating meat cuisine, a cornerstone of Malian culinary heritage. The festival brings together chefs, cultural actors, and citizens around traditional cooking practices, highlighting gastronomy as both a cultural identity marker and an economic opportunity. The minister’s presence at the event underscored the government’s commitment to promoting Malian know-how (savoir-faire), cultural industries, and the contribution of citizens-both at home and abroad-to national development and social cohesion. In a related cultural highlight, the “Timbuktu 2025” Arts and Culture Biennial officially came to a close, marking the end of one of Mali’s most significant cultural gatherings. The Bougouni region was crowned overall champion of this edition, which was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister. The biennial showcased artistic expression, cultural diversity, and creativity from across the country, reinforcing the role of culture as a driver of unity, resilience, and national pride amid ongoing challenges.
